Charity for the deceased
Giving charity on behalf of the deceased is the most beautiful act of loyalty.
Giving charity on behalf of the deceased is the most beautiful gift of loyalty and the most enduring form of righteousness that does not cease with the departure of the body. It is the "light" that the living send to be a source of illumination and elevation in the graves of their loved ones, and an embodiment of the prophetic promise that the deeds of the son of Adam cease except for three, one of which is "ongoing charity" .
1. Ongoing charity (sustainable impact)
It is charity whose origin remains and whose benefit continues, so its reward continues for the deceased as long as people benefit from it.
- Providing water: such as digging a well, installing a water cooler (public water fountain), or contributing to water extensions for villages in need.
- Construction and development: Contributing to the construction of a mosque, a school, a hospital, or even the restoration of a house for a poor family.
- Planting trees: “There is no Muslim who plants a tree… except that it is a charity for him”; for shade and fruit are a reward that never ends.
2. Charity of knowledge and the Quran
- Printing copies of the Quran: Distributing copies of the Quran to mosques or Quran memorization centers.
- Sponsoring a student of knowledge: Securing tuition fees or books for a student in need; for every piece of knowledge that is used and serves the community is recorded in the deceased’s account.
