Special needs

An inherent right and an acknowledgment of their dignity

Caring for and supporting people with special needs (or disabilities) is one of the highest forms of human compassion and societal progress. They are individuals of exceptional determination and ability who prove daily that disability lies not in the body, but in closed minds and spirits.

1. The Islamic and human perspective: Respect, not pity

Supporting people with special needs is not a passing "charity," but rather an inherent right and an acknowledgment of their human dignity.

  • Comforting others: Being close to them and fulfilling their needs is one of the greatest acts of devotion that softens the heart and brings blessings.
  • Justice: A strong society is one that creates an environment for all its members, regardless of their physical abilities, to contribute to its building.

2. The virtue of striving to fulfill their needs

  • Double reward: Helping those who have difficulty in movement, hearing, or sight is recorded with God as a continuous charity and a blessed aid.
  • Facilitating matters: “God helps the servant as long as the servant helps his brother,” and this help increases as the other party’s need increases.
